Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov expects that Ukrainian pilots will start training on the F-16 fighter jets as soon as this July.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov in a commentary to Military Media Center, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We hope they [training exercises – Ed.] will start in July, but only if the training program is approved,” Reznikov told.

In his words, the training program is now under development.

Earlier, Denmark and the Netherlands expressed willingness to train Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 fighter jets.

“The responsible persons were selected, and the program will be completed by early July. It will be announced, and I can optimistically say that training exercises will start as soon as this July,” Reznikov noted.

A reminder that, on June 12, 2023, in an interview with Reuters, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren stated that Ukrainian pilots could begin training to fly the F-16 fighter jets this summer.
