Panic in Istanbul as Earthquake Hits

A strong earthquake was felt in Istanbul.

According to Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a magnitude 6.2 earthquake was recorded in the Sea of Marmara, near Silivri, approximately 80 km west of central Istanbul, at 12:49 local time.

Many people left buildings and rushed into the streets in the city on the Bosphorus, CE Report quotes ANSA.
