Erdogan Urges Global Action for Gaza at Joint Press Conference

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities toward the people of Gaza during a joint press conference with Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh in Ankara on Thursday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Erdogan emphasized the importance of maintaining the cease-fire, stating, "The Israeli government must not be allowed to violate the cease-fire. The world must fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities toward Gazans."

Highlighting the resilience of Gaza, Erdogan noted, "Despite losing more than 50,000 martyrs, mostly women and children, Gaza did not surrender or bow to the oppressors." He urged global efforts to heal the region’s wounds and reiterated Türkiye’s stance on initiating peace talks for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

President Khurelsukh expressed Mongolia's appreciation for Türkiye's efforts to promote peace on both regional and global scales.

The press conference followed one-on-one and delegation-level meetings during Khurelsukh's five-day official visit to Türkiye.
