Türkiye Calls for Full Implementation of Gaza Cease-Fire Agreement
Türkiye emphasized the importance of fully implementing all phases of the Gaza cease-fire deal between Hamas and Israel. The Foreign Ministry stressed that ensuring the cease-fire becomes permanent and delivering urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza are essential steps, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
In a statement, Türkiye thanked mediating countries, particularly Qatar and Egypt, for their efforts and urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its obligations under the agreement. The ministry highlighted that enduring peace and stability in the Middle East depend on resolving the Palestinian issue and ending the injustices faced by the Palestinian people.
Türkiye reiterated its support for establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. It called for immediate peace talks to achieve this goal.
The announcement follows news from Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, that mediators successfully secured a cease-fire agreement, set to begin on Sunday.
