Turkey Warns Against Supporting PKK Under Pretext of Fighting Daesh
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Monday that strengthening the terrorist group PKK under the guise of combating Daesh/ISIS would not be tolerated, urging Western nations to cease support for the separatist organization, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
Speaking at a joint press conference in Ankara with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Fidan emphasized that the PKK’s control over Kurdish communities through violence is nearing its end. He called for the PKK/YPG to disarm in Syria without delay.
Fidan also described Daesh/ISIS as “a poison” for Muslim communities, highlighting the need for collective action against the group.
Safadi expressed solidarity with Türkiye, stating that threats to its security also jeopardize regional stability. He added that Jordan is collaborating with Türkiye to address shared security challenges and promote stability in the region.
