Bulgaria, Germany Boost Tourism Ties

Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh met with German Ambassador to Bulgaria Irene Maria Plank to discuss ways to boost the number of German tourists visiting Bulgaria, the Ministry of Tourism announced Thursday, CE Report quotes BTA

Germany remains a key tourism market for Bulgaria, and both officials emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation. Borshosh highlighted the country's commitment to improving connectivity and offering high-quality tourism experiences. Plank noted continued German interest in Bulgaria, especially for student exchanges and family travel along the coast.

One major initiative discussed was the Erlebe Bulgaria forum, aimed at showcasing Bulgaria to German-speaking travelers through cultural and nature-based experiences. The event, supported by the Ministry and German tourism media, seeks to attract new visitors and extend the tourist season.

The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to enhancing Bulgaria’s appeal as a preferred destination for German tourists.
