Winter Weather Advisory for Travelers

The Road Infrastructure Agency issued a travel advisory on Sunday, urging drivers to use winter-ready vehicles due to worsening weather conditions. Snow, rain, and strong winds are expected in the coming days, CE Report quotes BTA

Snowfall began at Petrohan Pass on Sunday morning, with snow clearing machines already at work. Regional road administrations are prepared to treat high-risk areas, especially in mountain passes prone to slipperiness and icing. Priority will be given to major roads and passes connecting North and South Bulgaria.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology forecasts increased rainfall in southern Bulgaria, turning to snow in higher elevations of Western Bulgaria and surrounding regions as temperatures drop.
