Romania Promotes Tourism at Major International Fairs in Madrid and Paris
The Ministry of Economy, Digitisation, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism (MEDAT), in collaboration with 25 travel agencies, hoteliers, associations, and local authorities, is showcasing Romania at two major international events: FITUR Madrid (January 22-26) and Les Thermalies Paris (January 23-26), CE Report quotes Agerpres
Minister Bogdan Ivan emphasized the importance of these fairs, stating, "We aim to highlight Romania's diverse tourism offerings to attract more visitors. In the first 11 months of 2024, we recorded 585,000 more tourists compared to all of 2023. Spain and France are key markets, ranking 6th and 8th for foreign tourist arrivals."
At FITUR, Romania is promoting cultural circuits, rural tourism, city breaks, active tourism, wellness, and spa experiences. Meanwhile, Les Thermalies focuses on health tourism, leveraging Romania's rich mineral and thermal water resources.
Spa tourism remains a priority, supported by MEDAT's Tourism Investment Master Plan and funding for infrastructure modernization in the country’s 38 national spa resorts.
The ministry also announced plans to finalize its 2025 international fair schedule after the state budget is approved, ensuring Romania continues its presence on the global tourism stage.
