European Commission VP Stephane Sejourne Visits Bucharest to Discuss Strategic Industries and Innovation
Stephane Sejourne, European Commission Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, will visit Bucharest on January 8-9 for high-level discussions with Romanian government officials, including Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, according to the European Commission Representation in Romania, CE Report quotes Agerpres
The visit coincides with preparations for the European Commission's Clean Industry Pact and follows the recent launch of a strategic dialogue on the automotive industry. It is part of Sejourne's ongoing tour of Europe's key industrial sectors, with this leg focusing on the battery industry.
On January 8, Sejourne is scheduled to meet with Economy Minister Bogdan-Gruia Ivan, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, and Senate President Ilie Bolojan. The following day, he will visit Prime Batteries Technology, a leading Romanian manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems, to highlight the sector’s role in Europe's decarbonization efforts and address challenges facing the industry.
Sejourne will conclude his visit at Romania's National Institute for Aerospace Research and Development (INCAS), where discussions will focus on the impact of Chinese competition in the drone market and advancements in drone technology for civil and military applications.
