AI Tools: ChatGPT Leads, DeepSeek Surge

OpenAI’s ChatGPT was the top AI tool in January with 4.7 billion monthly visits, according to AITools. Despite a decline in traffic due to China’s DeepSeek, which launched a competitive open-source AI model, ChatGPT maintained its lead, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Canva ranked second with 887 million visits, followed by Google Translate at 595 million. DeepSeek saw explosive growth, with a 2,000% rise in users, reaching 268 million. Meanwhile, ChatGPT’s traffic dropped by 2%.

Other popular AI tools included CharacterAI, JanitorAI, and Google’s Gemini, which saw a 9% dip in visits. Despite the rise of Chinese AI tools like DeepSeek, only one Chinese company made it into the top 10, with the rest being US-based.
