Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone to the public 18 years ago, on January 9, 2007, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

During the Macworld conference, Jobs unveiled the first-ever iPhone, a revolutionary device featuring a touchscreen and internet connectivity.

An Apple employee shared his experience with the public when the first iPhone was revealed, saying: “When I touched the screen for the first time, I knew this technology would create a lot of buzz.”

While the iPhone may not have changed the world of technology entirely, it undoubtedly transformed people’s lives. With just a touch of their fingers, users could easily access the internet. In addition to making calls and sending messages, the iPhone had effectively become a portable computer.

The launch of the App Store also opened doors for app developers, resulting in a total payout of $25 billion to creators.

The Apple device did not have an easy journey. During its first demonstration by Jobs, the iPhone encountered issues, including internet connection drops. Although the initial iPhone launch was a success, Apple faced numerous challenges over the years. Despite this, the company managed to maintain its position as the leader, even against its biggest rival, Samsung.

The iPhone 4 also had signal reception issues, causing Apple to lose some customers. Jobs, however, frequently emphasized that “smartphones aren’t perfect, and neither is Apple.”

Today, the iPhone has evolved into a thinner and more versatile device. Even though Apple has significantly advanced its iPhone technology, the legacy left by Jobs lives on, with the company adhering to the original concept of the smartphone.
