Kosovar judoka Distria Krasniqi was crowned European champion.

The talented athlete secured a gold medal for Kosovo at the European Championship currently being held in Montenegro. This marks the third time in her career that Krasniqi has won the European champion title, CE Report quotes ATA.

Krasniqi competed in the under-52 kilogram weight category. She claimed her third European title today, adding to those won in 2021 and 2024. In the past, she has also earned two silver and two bronze medals.

The Kosovar athlete triumphed in the final against Italy’s Odette Giuffrida, a highly experienced international competitor and reigning world champion.

The European Judo Championship features athletes from two continents, 48 countries, and a total of 414 competitors—229 men and 185 women.
