Arsenal claimed a commanding 3-0 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Despite strong efforts from Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, including a brilliant double save in the first half, Arsenal broke the deadlock in the 58th minute. Declan Rice scored with a powerful free-kick past Courtois. Rice doubled the lead twelve minutes later with another stunning free-kick into the top corner.

Arsenal sealed the win in the 75th minute when Mikel Merino finished a cross from Miles Lewis-Skelly to make it 3-0.

The Gunners now head to Madrid next Wednesday with a significant advantage in the tie.
