Stephen Curry in NBA history
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry became the first NBA player to hit 4000 three-pointers, extending his lead as the all-time leading long-range shooter in basketball history.
Curry went into game against the Sacramento Kings needing just two three-pointers to reach the unprecedented 4,000 three-pointers mark, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Curry took his time before completing the final few steps of his journey toward a scoring milestone that was once considered unimaginable before the four-time NBA champion revolutionized the art of the three-point shot.
The Warriors ace hit his first three-pointer of the night in the first quarter to move to 3,999th career three-pointer. It was one of only three three-point attempts by Curry in the first half, as the Warriors took a 61-51 lead into the break, according to the Associated Press.
But he then got San Francisco's Chase Center crowd to thunder its appreciation in the third quarter, as it finally reached 4,000.
Curry's three-point surge is the latest achievement in a career that ensures he will be remembered as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
