Prevc siblings claim six medals at 2025 Nordic World Ski Championships
The 2025 Nordic World Ski Championships in Norway will go down in history after Domen Prevc won the gold medal in the men's large hill event less than 24 hours after his sister Nika dominated the women's event. The Prevc siblings will return from Trondheim with six medals between them.
Prevc was in the lead after the first series with a 138-metre jump, and then followed it up with a 140.5-metre jump in the final series to win the fifth medal for Slovenia in Trondheim, CE Report quotes The Slovenia Times.
Prevc collected a total of 301.8 points to finish ahead of Marius Lindvik of Norway (297.1 points) and Jan Hoerl of Austria, who was 15.2 points behind the Slovenian.
This is the first individual world championship medal for the 25-year-old from the Prevc ski jumping dynasty.
"I really didn't expect this. I haven't slept well in the last few days, and I had a high heart rate all the time. I could feel that something big was going to happen," Prevc told the FIS in his first statement after the victory.
"Before the final jump I was very nervous, my hands were shaking, it was very, very difficult, but I managed to stay focused," he added.
The fifth medal for Slovenia in Trondheim comes after Nika Prevc's gold medals on the normal and large hills, the silver medal for the mixed team and the gold medal for the men's team in the large hill event.
