Former Real Madrid star Marcelo has officially retired from football at 36, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

"My journey as a player ends here, but I still have so much to give to football. Thank you for everything," he shared on social media.

Marcelo, a former Brazil international, enjoyed a decorated career, winning five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, and six LaLiga championships with Real Madrid. He returned to his boyhood club Flamengo in November 2024.

On the international stage, he played 58 matches for Brazil and contributed to their 2013 Confederations Cup victory.
