Romania Sends 20 Athletes to EYOF 2025 in Bakuriani

Romania will be represented by 20 athletes at the 17th Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) 2025, set to take place in Bakuriani, Georgia, from February 9 to 16, the Romanian Olympic Committee announced, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Team Romania will compete in four out of eight sports: biathlon, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding. The athletes will be accompanied by nine coaches.

The biathlon team consists of eight athletes, with coaches Attila Czont, Daniel Mazilu, Tudor Girbacea, and Szilard Marton. Alpine skiing will see four Romanian athletes under the guidance of coaches Alexandru George Barbu and Sandra Elena Narea. The cross-country skiing team also includes four athletes, coached by Istvan Janosi and George Scurtu. The snowboarding team, featuring four athletes, will be led by coach Geza Lorant Kinda.

The EYOF 2025 will bring together over 900 young athletes from 45 countries, competing in eight disciplines: ice hockey, figure skating, short-track, biathlon, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding.
