West Ham United have sacked head coach Julen Lopetegui after just 192 days in charge, citing disappointing results during the first half of the 2024/25 season, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

"The first half of the season has not aligned with the Club’s ambitions, and the Club has therefore taken action in line with its objectives," the Premier League club stated.

The 58-year-old Spaniard, appointed in May and officially taking over on July 1, oversaw a challenging tenure with only seven wins in 22 matches. A 4-1 loss to Manchester City on Saturday marked the team’s ninth defeat, leaving the Hammers in 14th place, seven points above the relegation zone.

Assistant coach Pablo Sanz, head of performance Oscar Caro, head analyst Juan Vicente Peinado, fitness coach Borja De Alba, and technical coach Edu Rubio have also left the club with immediate effect.

West Ham confirmed that the search for Lopetegui’s replacement is underway but declined further comment.

Lopetegui is the fifth Premier League manager to exit this season, joining Erik ten Hag, Steve Cooper, Gary O’Neil, and Russell Martin.
