Romanian Monica Niculescu and Hungarian Fanny Stollar secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the doubles event at the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart, Australia. The pair defeated the American duo Sabrina Santamaria and Sloane Stephens in a hard-fought match, 5-7, 6-3, 10-4, after one hour and 35 minutes of play, CE Report quotes Agerpres

With this victory, Niculescu and Stollar earned $2,540 in prize money and 54 WTA doubles points.

In the quarterfinals, they will face the tournament's second-seeded pair, Ulrikke Eikeri from Norway and Makoto Ninomiya from Japan.
