Meanwhile, Anca Todoni (20, ranked 118 WTA) triumphed over Swedish player Mirjam Bjorklund (26, ranked 770 WTA) with an identical scoreline, finishing in 68 minutes.
Both players earned $8,900 and 13 WTA points. Bogdan will next face Colombia's Emiliana Arango (24, ranked 169 WTA), while Todoni is set to play Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (30, ranked 110 WTA) for a spot in the main draw.
