Olympic athlete wins TV quiz show
Ivan Trajkovič, a martial artist who has competed for Slovenia twice at Olympic Games, has won Slovenia's currently most watched TV quiz show, Joker. The first person to win the main prize in two years, the 33-year-old took home a cheque for €20,000, CE Report quotes The Slovenia Times.
In Joker contestants must answer ten increasingly challenging multiple-choice questions. For Trajkovič, the final question was at what week of pregnancy is a baby no longer considered to be born preterm.
"I got a rush of adrenaline when I heard the question. I knew the answer before the choices even appeared," Trajkovič, who still competes in taekwondo, told TV Slovenija.
The athlete recently became a father and he says he knew when babies are considered preterm because he was deeply involved in the pregnancy "as much as a father possibly can be".
The 33-year-old says he loves quiz shows and had previously participated in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. "My head is full of information that will never be useful - except in a quiz."
He said the prize money will come in handy. "We'll fix up our place a bit and probably travel somewhere. We were unable to do that in the summer because our son Maks was very ill. He has fully recovered now ... This has really made our year."
Trajkovič placed fifth in the men's +80 kg taekwondo event at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, and was eleventh at the London Games in 2012.
