POTs confirmed for FIFA Club World Cup draw

Juventus and Inter find themselves in Pot 2 for today's 2025 FIFA Club World Cup group stage draw. However, unlike Juventus, Inter will avoid being paired with a European club from Pot 1, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The Serie A giants, Inter and Juventus, will represent the Italian league in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which is set to take place in the USA from June 15 to July 13 next year.

Both "Nerazzurri" and "Bianconeri" will be placed in Pot 2 during today's group stage draw. However, Juventus is likely to face tougher opponents on paper than their domestic rivals. Specifically, four of the top European clubs in Pot 2, including Inter, will be matched with one of the four South American clubs from Pot 1. As a result, they will also avoid facing Botafogo or Boca Juniors from Pot 3.

In contrast, the remaining four European clubs in Pot 2 will be paired with a European club from Pot 1. This means they could potentially face Botafogo or Boca Juniors from Pot 3.
"No group can feature more than one team from the same confederation," FIFA clarified.
"This rule applies to all confederations except UEFA (Europe), which will have 12 clubs participating in the tournament. Consequently, four out of the eight groups will include two European clubs."

Although Inter shares Pot 2 with Juventus, "Gazzetta" notes that "Nerazzurri" are ranked higher, ensuring they will be the only European club in their group. Inter's potential opponents from Pot 1 include River Plate, Palmeiras, Flamengo, and Fluminense.

On the other hand, Juventus will face another club from the same continent, meaning they could be paired with one of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, or PSG from Pot 1.

Pot Allocations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Draw:

Pot 1: Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, Flamengo, Palmeiras, River Plate, Fluminense
Pot 2: Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Inter, FC Porto, Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Juventus, RB Salzburg
