Romanian table tennis player Bernadette Szocs has made sensation with her qualification for the semifinals of the World Table Tennis Tournament (WTT Finals), after defeating Japanese Satsuki Odo (world's no. 8), 3-0 (14-12, 11-3, 11-5), in the quarterfinals on Friday in Kitakyushu (Japan), CE Report quotes Agerpres

Szocs needed only 20 minutes to get past Odo.

The player, who is registered with CSA Steaua and is ranked 17th in the world, had already defeated another Japanese athlete, Hina Hayata, seed no. 4, in the round of 16, with a score of 3-1 (12-10, 11-7, 6-11, 11-6).
