Serbian President accuses Kosovo's Prime Minister of attempting to eliminate political opposition
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has accused Prime Minister Albin Kurti of not certifying the Serbian List for the parliamentary elections scheduled for February 9, 2025, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Vučić stated that Kurti "is trying to eliminate the only political opponent in Kosovo—the Serbian List—and, with the help of his allies, aims to wipe out the Serbian people."
"Adding to this are the harsh attacks from various domestic pressure groups, and it is clear to everyone that the ultimate goal is the collapse of Serbia. We will not give Serbia to anyone, and Serbia will not stop! There is no surrender," he said.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) did not certify the Serbian List for the February elections due to positions against the state of Kosovo. Some of the reasons were nationalist calls made by the leader of the Serbian List, Zlatan Elek, during the presentation of the candidate list.
