Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Gjurić made his first official visit to China since assuming office, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

In Tianjin, northern China, he was received in a meeting with Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and China's foreign minister.

Gjurić stated that he received official Beijing’s support regarding Kosovo, according to Serbian media.
"China continues to unwaveringly support Serbia on the Kosovo issue," he said, adding that the friendship with China is crucial for achieving Serbia's strategic priorities.

"By the end of 2024, we can proudly say that we have conducted a ministerial-level visit of almost historical significance, following the historic visit of President Xi Jinping to Serbia, marking the close of a fantastic year of Serbian-Chinese cooperation," he said.

China is among the countries that have not recognized Kosovo’s independence and continues its cooperation with pro-Russian Serbia.
"China will firmly continue to support Serbia in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as in fostering Serbia’s development and growth," said Minister Wang Yi, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry's statement regarding the meeting with Gjurić.
