Romania Advances in OECD Accession Process
Romania has made significant progress in its Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) accession, securing the 13th formal opinion on corporate governance out of the required 25, according to Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, CE Report quotes Agerpres
Ciolacu highlighted that this marks a major achievement, as corporate governance is one of the most complex areas of the OECD process. He also emphasized the recent amendment of Government Ordinance 109 to align with OECD standards, ensuring Romania adopts best international practices for state-owned enterprises and listed companies.
This step is crucial not only for OECD accession but also for the completion of Romania's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), which supports the country's modernization and economic competitiveness.
