ADM Romania Installs Largest Crane at Constanta Port
In March, ADM Romania successfully commissioned the largest crane ever installed at the Port of Constanta. This 320-ton Sennebogen 885 hydraulic crane, with a 38-meter reach, is capable of handling up to 12-15 thousand tons per day, significantly boosting loading and unloading efficiency for Panamax ships, CE Report quotes Agerpres
The crane, powered by a 500 kW electric engine, will enhance productivity at ADM’s terminal in Constanta, improving the overall supply chain across the Danube River silos, barge fleet, and port terminal. This upgrade underscores ADM's long-term commitment to the region, as noted by Anton Povkhan, General Manager of ADM Danube Region.
Stefan Lazarescu, ADM Port Operations Manager, highlighted the crane's importance in accelerating cargo operations, marking a significant milestone in Romania’s port modernization efforts. ADM Romania operates seven silos along the Danube and a fleet of barges, supporting efficient grain transhipment and export services.
