Bodoc commune mayor Fodor Istvan confirmed that the project also includes an equestrian center and a tourist-friendly gastronomic point. Restoration work, which began a year ago, is set to be completed by 2026.
Covasna County Council president Tamas Sandor highlighted the significance of the murals, which depict scenes from social life and the Napoleonic wars. Hidden beneath layers of plaster, these paintings are unique within the Carpathian Basin.
The project, valued at over 18 million lei, is part of broader efforts to preserve and promote Romania’s cultural heritage. In addition to the museum, plans include expanding equestrian facilities and supporting international carriage driving competitions.
