Romania

The 'George Emil Palade' University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology (UMFST) in Targu Mures has signed a collaboration agreement with the Romanian Teqball Federation to promote Teqball and Teqvoly in the academic environment. This partnership will facilitate sports competitions and events aimed at engaging students in these emerging sports, CE Report quotes Agerpres

As part of UMFST’s 80th-anniversary celebrations, the university will host the world’s first international Teqball competition between universities this October. This milestone event underscores UMFST’s commitment to innovation in sports and education.

'UMFST Targu Mures has been a strong supporter of Teqball for years, integrating it into the curriculum of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. With this agreement, we are further strengthening our commitment to developing Teqball and Teqvoly at the academic level,' said Teodor Luca, President of the Romanian Teqball Federation.

UMFST was the first university in Romania to introduce Teqball as an optional subject for Physical Education and Sports students. This initiative aligns with its mission to combine academic excellence with modern sports trends, fostering an active and competitive student community.

The Romanian Teqball Federation sees this collaboration as a crucial step in expanding the sport nationally and internationally, shaping future generations of athletes and coaches. UMFST remains dedicated to enhancing opportunities for students through innovative and dynamic sports activities.
