Romsilva Generates €6.6 Million in Revenue from Non-Wood Products and Hunting by November 2024
The National Forest Administration - Romsilva reported revenues of approximately 33 million RON (€6.6 million) by the end of November 2024, derived from the sale of non-wood products, hunting, and fish farming activities, CE Report quotes Agerpres
Key revenue drivers included the sale of consumer pulp (350 tonnes), generating 10.045 million RON, and hunting-related activities, which contributed 4.693 million RON. Additional income of 1.337 million RON came from 97 tonnes of game meat.
Romsilva also earned 2.143 million RON from the sale of 31,474 live pheasants. Sales of berries, such as rosehip, sea buckthorn, and blueberries (738 tonnes), brought in 5.407 million RON, while medicinal plants (681 tonnes) generated 4.086 million RON.
Truffle sales, achieved through harvesting rights, amounted to 38 tonnes and yielded 4.740 million RON. Meanwhile, mushroom sales (98 tonnes, including porcini and chanterelle varieties) contributed 247,150 RON.
Romsilva manages 212 hunting grounds, 27 trout fisheries, and three pheasant farms in Gherghita, Pischia, and Ghimpati, underscoring its diverse revenue streams and contribution to Romania's forestry sector.
