Save Romania Union (USR) leader Elena Lasconi praised Maia Sandu on Tuesday, recognizing her unwavering support for Romania during challenging times. The message coincided with Sandu's official assumption of office as President of the Republic of Moldova, CE Report quotes Agerpres

"Maia Sandu is the person who, in a difficult moment for Romania, did not keep silent or stand aside. She came to Bucharest not just to support me, but to stand with all of us who believe in freedom, democracy, and Romania's path toward the West," Lasconi wrote on Facebook.

Lasconi also expressed her hopes for Sandu's presidency, urging her to remain steadfast in her commitment to the "right side of history," no matter how complex the challenges ahead may be.

"Romania and the Republic of Moldova, together in the European Union!" Lasconi concluded.
