President Iohannis Expresses Shock Over Magdeburg Attack, Solidarity with Germany

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis expressed shock over the terrorist attack in Magdeburg, Germany, that left at least two people dead and dozens injured, CE Report quotes Agerpres

"Shocked by the terrorist attack in Magdeburg, where innocent people were killed and injured. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims. Romania stands in solidarity with the German people in these difficult times," Iohannis posted on the X platform.

The incident occurred on Friday when a car drove into a crowd at a Christmas fair, injuring 60 to 80 people. The suspect, a doctor in his 50s originally from Saudi Arabia, has lived in Germany since 2006 and holds permanent residency. He is currently in police custody, according to Saxony-Anhalt Premier Reiner Haseloff.
