Ceasefire in Jeopardy After Kashmir Terror Attack Kills 26
The Indian army has reported that for the fifth consecutive night, there have been exchanges of gunfire between Indian and Pakistani soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, the de facto border between the two countries.
There has been no confirmation from Pakistan, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The violation of the ceasefire agreement, which was established between the two countries in 2021, highlights the ongoing high tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 attack, in which armed terrorists killed 26 Hindu tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir — a Muslim-majority region claimed by both New Delhi and Islamabad.
The terrorist attack was the deadliest targeting civilians in the past 25 years.
