Putin Announces Ukraine Ceasefire

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a unilateral ceasefire in Ukraine ahead of celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

The Kremlin said all Russian military actions would halt from midnight May 7–8 until midnight May 10–11. Moscow urged Ukraine to observe the ceasefire, warning of a "strong and effective response" to any violations.

The statement also reiterated Russia’s willingness to enter peace talks without preconditions. Ukraine has not yet responded.
