
Iran-U.S. Nuclear Talks Show Progress
The third round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the U.S., mediated by Oman, concluded on Saturday in Muscat. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the talks as “more serious” and noted that both sides have begun to delve into more technical details regarding nuclear issues. The talks, which involved written exchanges of opinions, are set to continue after consultations in both capitals. Araghchi expressed cautious optimism, acknowledging progress while stressing that the Iranian side remains vigilant. He reiterated that the scope of the negotiations remains strictly nuclear, with no discussions on other topics.
Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi emphasized that the shared goal is to reach an agreement based on mutual respect and commitment. The next round of talks is scheduled for May 3, with the venue to be decided by Oman. The ongoing negotiations come amid U.S. President Donald Trump's threats of military action if a new deal, replacing the 2015 agreement, is not reached.
