The European Union will provide Moldova with €60 million in financial assistance to strengthen its defense and resilience amid growing regional security risks, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas announced the aid during her visit to Chisinau, emphasizing that it will help Moldova counter threats such as Russian drones and missile incidents.

President Maia Sandu noted that EU-backed equipment will help protect civilians from airspace violations and safeguard infrastructure.

This support is part of the EU’s broader strategy to bolster the stability of partner countries near the eastern border, amid ongoing tensions caused by the war in Ukraine.
