Moldovans Abroad Can Register to Vote

Politics

Moldovan citizens living abroad can now register online to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for 28 September 2025. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has launched a pre-registration platform at inregistrare.cec.md for eligible voters, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Online registration is open until 14 August 2025, 23:59 Moldovan time. Government spokesperson Daniel Vodă emphasized the importance of registering early, as it helps the CEC determine the number and location of overseas polling stations. "Without registration, it might be harder to have a nearby polling station," he noted.

Vodă also clarified that citizens who registered for previous elections and haven’t changed their location do not need to register again.

So far, the highest numbers of registrations have come from Italy, the UK, Germany, Russia, and France. Pre-registration is optional but plays a key role in organizing voting logistics abroad by estimating turnout and deciding where to open polling stations.
