Moldova Keeps Postal Voting

Speaker Igor Grosu confirmed that Moldova will continue using postal voting in the upcoming autumn elections, citing its proven reliability and solid return rate. Authorities will work on technical improvements to increase accessibility, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will finalize the legal framework based on the previous law. Grosu emphasized the need for a trustworthy postal system and mentioned ongoing discussions about improving the timeframe for sending and receiving ballots.

Postal voting was first used in the October 2024 presidential and constitutional referendum for Moldovans living in the U.S., Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland.
