Erdogan Condemns Gaza Assault
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday fiercely condemned Israel’s military operations in Gaza, accusing the Israeli government of committing indiscriminate massacres and criticizing the international community’s silence, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
Speaking at a meeting of pro-Palestinian parliamentarians in Istanbul, Erdogan said Israel is “massacring Palestinians without distinction,” referencing the deaths of women, children, aid workers, and journalists.
He described the crisis as a test of global conscience, stressing that the Palestinian cause is “a struggle to be human and remain human,” and not only a Muslim issue but one for “every person of conscience.”
Erdogan cited staggering destruction in Gaza, claiming nearly 80% of its buildings have been destroyed, over 60,000 Palestinians killed since October 2023, and more than 7% of the population either killed or maimed. He also highlighted the deaths of 212 journalists and hundreds of healthcare and aid workers.
Calling out Western “double standards,” Erdogan accused global powers of staying silent and attempting to “normalize genocide” by labeling Palestinian resistance as terrorism. He warned that any proposal to displace Palestinians from their land is unacceptable and reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for justice, peace, and dignity in Palestine.
