Iran seeks ‘Fair, Binding Deal’ in Rome talks with U.S.
The second round of talks between representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America will be held in Rome today.
The talks aim to make further progress toward a fair, binding, and sustainable agreement, according to Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed his participation in the talks, noting that Italy will host the negotiations, while Oman remains the official mediator.
“The reality is we are receiving contradictory and inconsistent messages from the United States. The meaning and goals of these messages are their business,” Araghchi said, referencing the ongoing indirect, mediated talks that began in Oman.
“From our perspective, what matters is what is said at the negotiating table,” he added.
“Iran is fully committed to these talks. Our position is clear, and we’ve made it equally clear to the other side. Our message hasn’t changed and won’t change,” Araghchi emphasized, calling on Washington to show the same seriousness and consistency.
