Lavrov: Ukraine Deal with U.S. Challenging

Politics

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that reaching a peace agreement with the U.S. over the war in Ukraine remains challenging, though discussions continue. In an interview with Kommersant, Lavrov said key elements of a settlement are still under debate and referenced President Putin’s earlier proposals, which he claimed align with international law and reflect the will of people in annexed Ukrainian regions, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Lavrov emphasized that both Russia and the U.S. must act responsibly to avoid escalating conflicts and seize moments of alignment for mutual benefit. He also noted Moscow’s awareness of deals that could be advantageous versus those that could serve as political traps.
