Moldova Steadily Advances Toward EU Membership
Moldova is progressing with determination on its path to European Union integration, which Prime Minister Dorin Recean calls the nation’s key to peace, security, and prosperity. In an interview with journalist Dmytro Gordon, Recean emphasized that the country is focused on joining the EU by 2028, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
He highlighted a recent €1.9 billion EU investment package aimed at modernizing Moldova’s infrastructure and economy. Recean also dismissed Russian propaganda efforts, affirming that Moldovans overwhelmingly support EU membership, as seen in past elections and the strong presence of Moldovans working across Europe.
Moldova has already completed the screening of over half of the EU acquis chapters and is steadily advancing in negotiations. Recean expressed hope that his generation will lead the country into the EU. Moldova officially applied for EU membership in March 2022 and began accession talks in 2023.
