PM Visits Renovated Tzaneio Hospital
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Tzaneio Hospital on Friday, where he toured the newly renovated wings alongside Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis and hospital officials, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
"This is essentially a new hospital," Mitsotakis stated, highlighting the quality of the renovation, which was completed while the facility remained operational. He praised the modern infrastructure, saying it rivals private hospitals and reflects real progress in Greece’s National Health System (NHS).
He emphasized that the upgrades were funded by the EU Recovery Fund, countering criticism that such resources benefit only a few. "This is proof that European funds are being used to improve services for the many," he said.
Mitsotakis concluded by reaffirming the government's broader healthcare goals: upgrading over 150 health centers, modernizing emergency departments, and building a stronger NHS for all citizens over the next two years.
