Minister David Strengthens US-Romania Ties
Daniel David, Romania’s Minister of Education, is currently visiting the United States to engage with university graduates and the Romanian diaspora. His goal is to establish a two-way relationship to support education and research, the Ministry of Education announced on Sunday, CE Report quotes Agerpres
David's meetings are taking place in communities near Chicago, North Carolina, and Washington, with plans to visit New York in May. The discussions focus on understanding educational needs and exploring opportunities for mutual collaboration. The minister is also visiting American universities and institutions to foster stronger educational and research partnerships.
These efforts build on collaborations initiated by David during his tenure as rector at Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. He emphasized the expansion of relations with American universities, particularly with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, to benefit both Romania and the Romanian diaspora.
The meetings in North Carolina included discussions on providing online educational resources and support for graduates, as well as strengthening connections between Romania and the Romanian diaspora. The event also highlighted new opportunities for collaboration, particularly through the 'Executive Education - Innovation' programme, a joint initiative between UBB and UNC.
