U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington continues to engage in dialogue with Moscow regarding a ceasefire, adding that he does not like the bombing.

Trump made the remarks to reporters aboard Air Force One, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

"We are talking to Russia. We'd like them to stop. I don't like the bombing -- the bombing goes on and on. Every week, thousands of young people are being killed," Trump said when asked about ongoing talks with Russia and potential steps toward peace.

He reiterated his claim that the war would not have happened had he been president earlier.

On April 4, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on a residential neighborhood in Kryvyi Rih, killing 19 people, including nine children, and injuring 74 others. Later that night, the city was targeted by drones, resulting in one death and seven injuries.

On April 6, it was reported that a 57-year-old man who was injured in the missile attack had died in the hospital.

In the early hours of April 6, Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine using air-, ground-, and sea-launched missiles as well as attack UAVs. Damage from the strikes was recorded in the Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Mykolaiv regions.
