Moldova has declared three employees of the Russian Embassy as undesirable persons, instructing them to leave the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informed the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, that the decision was based on evidence of activities violating diplomatic protocols, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The expulsion follows information from the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) about Moldovan lawmaker Alexandr Nesterovschi being in the Transnistrian region under the protection of Russian special services. SIS Director Alexandru Musteata confirmed the involvement of Russian authorities, including the embassy, in assisting Nesterovschi to evade local law enforcement.

Nesterovschi is linked to a criminal network headed by Ilan Shor, who is also avoiding a 15-year prison sentence.
