
Greece Launches Digital Public Sector Reform
Greece’s Ministry of Digital Governance and Ministry of Interior are collaborating to overhaul the public sector by reducing bureaucracy and implementing key reforms, aimed at improving citizens' daily lives. The initiative includes the development of digital platforms like MyStreet and Gov.gr, as well as the elimination of commonly requested certificates, streamlining administrative procedures, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou emphasized that the reforms aim to increase efficiency, simplify interactions, and give citizens an active role in evaluating public services. "We are moving forward with digital tools to improve the state’s interaction with citizens and businesses," said Papastergiou, highlighting new initiatives such as electronic questionnaires for service evaluations and the protection of public spaces via MyStreet.
Interior Minister Thodoris Livanios added that these reforms focus on enhancing public sector efficiency and enabling citizen feedback to shape a better future for Greece. The government also introduced a large-scale evaluation process for services provided by central government and local authorities.
This partnership is part of a broader effort to create a more responsive, digitally efficient, and citizen-friendly state.
