Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi responded, stating that the Kremlin, known for persecuting opposition figures and silencing dissent, is not in a position to lecture on democracy.
Popsoi emphasized that the detention of Gutul, linked to the Shor crime group, falls under the jurisdiction of Moldovan prosecutors. Gutul was arrested at Chisinau Airport on March 25 in connection with illegal election funding, document forgery, and electoral fraud.
