
Greek Government Focuses on Public Sector Reforms
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted significant changes in Greece's public sector during a visit to the Interior Ministry on Monday. He emphasized the need for political will and technology to drive improvements in public administration. Key priorities include speeding up civil servant hirings and implementing a new evaluation system to distinguish and reward top performers. Mitsotakis also announced a forthcoming initiative: a citizen-led evaluation of public services, where four million citizens will assess public services via a detailed questionnaire. This feedback will help improve accountability and guide reforms.
The Ministry of Digital Governance, led by Dimitris Papastergiou, is overseeing 104 projects funded by the Recovery Fund, aimed at improving citizens' daily lives through digital services. The government’s goal is to create a more efficient, accountable, and progressive public sector.
