In an interview with Radio France Internationale, Sandu stated that Moldova has built an excellent partnership with France, particularly over the past three to four years. She noted that this relationship allows Moldova’s interests to be represented even in discussions where the country is not directly invited.

During her visit, Sandu discussed key issues with French officials, including Moldova’s sovereignty, security, and the withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory. She affirmed France’s support, along with other European partners, in protecting Moldova’s interests.

The two nations cooperate in various sectors, including economy, defense, security, and combating disinformation. An agreement on countering disinformation was signed, along with a €30 million financing deal to improve energy efficiency in Moldova’s public buildings and a social protection agreement.

Sandu also met with French parliamentary leaders, the mayor of Paris, and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay to discuss cooperation in education, culture, and the protection of the Gagauz language.

This visit reinforced France’s continued support for Moldova’s European aspirations and strengthened bilateral ties across multiple fields.
